QuickStage has two kinds of paid credits, and one credit always stages one photo. Plan credits (75 to 1,500 a month, on plans from $19.99) reset every month, and unused ones don't roll over, even when the plan is billed yearly. Pay-as-you-go credits cost $1 each with no subscription, never expire, and stay on your balance until you use them.
The rest of this page covers the details people ask us about: the three free photos, how QuickFix re-dos are counted, how to think about holding both kinds at once, and what happens when you change or cancel a plan. Prices are as of October 2026.
What does one QuickStage credit buy?
One credit stages one photo. It doesn't matter which room type or style you pick, and an exterior photo (Curb Appeal or Twilight) costs the same single credit as an interior, with no surcharge.
A credit pays for a new staged photo. It does not pay for corrections. Those come out of a separate QuickFix balance, covered below, so fixing a result never eats into your photo count.
Credits are tied to your email address. When you upload a photo to QuickStage, enter the same email you paid with and your credits apply.
The four ways to hold credits, side by side
| Credit type | How you get it | What one credit buys | When it resets or expires | Re-dos |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free trial | 3 credits for a new user; email address only, no account, no card | One staged photo | One-time; it doesn't renew | 1 free QuickFix |
| Pay-as-you-go | $1 each, 1 to 50 at a time, no subscription | One staged photo | Never expires | No monthly QuickFix allowance |
| Plan, billed monthly | Basic 75, Pro 225, Studio 650 or Agency 1,500 credits a month, from $19.99 | One staged photo | Resets every month; unused credits don't roll over | 7, 20, 50 or 100 QuickFix re-dos a month |
| Plan, billed yearly | Same monthly credit counts, paid once a year | One staged photo | Still resets every month, not once a year | Same monthly QuickFix allowance |
Per photo, the plans work out to $0.27 on Basic, $0.18 on Pro, $0.15 on Studio and $0.13 on Agency when billed monthly, and as low as $0.11 on the Agency plan billed yearly. The current QuickStage credit prices and plan sizes are on the pricing section; trust that page if anything here goes out of date.
How does the monthly reset work?
Each plan includes a set number of credits per month. On your reset date the count goes back to your plan's full number. It doesn't stack on top of what was left.
For example, say you're on Basic with 75 credits and you stage 60 photos this month. The other 15 don't carry forward. On the reset date you have 75 again, not 90.
Two details worth knowing:
- Annual plans reset monthly too. Paying for the year up front gets you two months free, but the credits arrive a month at a time. A yearly Basic plan gives you 75 fresh credits each month, not 900 on day one.
- You can see the date. Your Manage subscription page shows the credits you have left and the date they reset.
Do pay-as-you-go credits expire?
No. Credits you buy at $1 each are permanent. You can buy between 1 and 50 at a time, there's no subscription attached, and they stay on your balance until you use them.
They also survive a plan. If you already hold pay-as-you-go credits and then subscribe, your monthly plan credits are added on top of them. At each monthly reset, the plan portion goes back to the plan's number and the pay-as-you-go portion is left alone.
Which credits should you lean on? The Resets-First rule
Our rule of thumb for holding both kinds is Resets-First: plan your month around the credits that reset, and treat the ones that don't as your reserve. Plan credits go back to the plan's number on the reset date whether you used them or not. Pay-as-you-go credits never expire and stay on your balance until you use them, so they lose nothing by waiting.
For example, say you're on Basic (75 a month) and you also bought 10 pay-as-you-go credits, so you have 85 photos available this month. If you expect to stage about 60, the plan covers it and the 10 permanent credits are still there for a heavier month. If you expect to stage 80, the plan's 75 plus 5 of the permanent ones cover it without changing tiers.
The same rule is a sensible way to decide what to buy:
- On a plan and about to run out this month? Top up with a few $1 credits instead of jumping a tier for one busy month. Whatever you don't use is still there later.
- Running out most months? That's the signal to move up a plan, because plan credits cost far less per photo.
- Staging only now and then? Pay-as-you-go alone is fine, since nothing you buy can lapse.
Where the break-even between pay-as-you-go and a plan sits is its own question; we covered it in our 20-Photo Rule post.
How are QuickFix re-dos counted?
QuickFix is the re-do button. If a result has something wrong, such as a picture hung over a window or a chair blocking a doorway, you describe the problem in plain words and that photo is re-rendered with the correction applied.
It runs on its own balance, separate from credits:
- A QuickFix never uses a staging credit.
- Every plan includes a monthly allowance: 7 on Basic, 20 on Pro, 50 on Studio and 100 on Agency.
- The allowance resets with your billing cycle, on annual plans as well. It goes back to the plan's number rather than stacking.
- New users get one free QuickFix alongside the three free photos.
- The allowance is the cap. Once you've used it for the period, the next QuickFix has to wait for the reset.
QuickStage is built to keep walls, windows, floors and paint colors as photographed and to add only movable furniture and decor. QuickFix is there for the times a result still misses.
What happens when you upgrade, downgrade or cancel?
- Upgrade: it takes effect immediately. You pay the price difference between the plans and get the new plan's full monthly credits right away.
- Downgrade: it takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep your current plan and credits until then, and the lower plan's credit count applies from the next renewal.
- Cancel: you can cancel any time from your billing portal with no cancellation fee. Your remaining plan credits stay active through the end of the current billing period. After that the plan credits and the QuickFix allowance end, and any pay-as-you-go credits you bought stay on your balance.
- Refunds: you can request one within 7 days of your most recent charge. Requests are reviewed and prorated by unused credits; the terms have the full wording.
One note that has nothing to do with billing: whichever credit paid for a photo, label it as virtually staged when it goes on a listing. California requires a disclosure plus access to the unaltered original (Business and Professions Code §10140.8), and many MLSs have their own rule. This isn't legal advice; check your MLS and broker.
Bottom line
Plan credits reset every month and don't roll over, on monthly and yearly billing alike. Pay-as-you-go credits cost $1 and never expire. QuickFix re-dos are counted separately and never cost a credit. If you remember one thing, make it Resets-First: plan around what resets, hold what doesn't in reserve, and buy $1 credits for the overflow.
